Shanghai East Radio Co Advertising charges increase

SHANGHAI East Radio Co, a subsidiary of Shanghai Media Group, said yesterday advertising charges for its 11 local radio channels would increase 7 to 8 percent next year because of the greater opportunities with the Shanghai 2010 World Expo.

For example, a 10 second advertisement broadcast through its Love Radio FM103.7 during 7am to 9am will cost 3,200 yuan (US$469) next year.

Radio advertising revenue jumped 18 percent in October from a month earlier, leading other traditional media including television and print, according to CSM Media Research.
