The dulcet tones of saxophones

The Italian Saxophone Quartet was founded in 1982, bringing together four of the most established soloists in their fields.

The musical ensemble has toured throughout Europe, North America, Russia and Asia staging more than 500 performances.

The quartet has won a number of chamber music competition awards, including first prize at the prestigious Premio Ancona in Italy. It has featured in world-class musical projects, including a performance of Berio’s “Outis” with La Scala Symphony Orchestra of Milan in 1999.

The ensemble performed as soloists with the Malipiero Symphony Orchestra in works created by Piazzolla and Dubois. In cooperation with the Fone String Quartet, it premiered a new version of Bach’s “Art of the Fugue” for string and saxophone quartets at the 22nd International Chamber Music Festival in Asolo, Italy.
