Colors Enlisted For Air Traffic

AVIATION authorities yesterday announced a three-level alert system for air traffic during the World Expo.

"Yellow" means bad weather has hit small areas around the city or there are 111 to 120 aircraft taking off or landing per hour at Shanghai's two airports. "Orange" indicates bad weather reported over most of the city area or the traffic volume having increased to 121 to 130 aircraft per hour. At "red", the city is experiencing extremely bad weather or the volume has risen more than 131 per hour.

The authorities will enact air control measures accordingly. An air traffic organization was scheduled to be put into use today.
