Spartan Race
THE 2018 Spartan Race was held at Pudong’s Sunland Greenland in Shanghai over the weekend, featuring more than 6,500 participants in the Spartan Sprint Race, the Spartan Super Race and the Children’s Race. A total of 600 challengers took part in the Super Race, during which they had to conquer 25 obstacles along the 12-kilometer route. Payen Yann and Guillot Boisset of France became the men’s and women’s champions clocking 43 minutes 6 seconds and 53:31, respectively. The Sprint Race set 20 obstacles along a 5km route. The Children’s Race attracted 1,500 young participants, who had a choice of eight to 20 obstacles to challenge. Zeke McDaniels of the US and China’s Yang Cai were the boy’s and girl’s champions, respectively. The Spartan Race was first held in China in 2016. Four more stops are scheduled this year — Hangzhou (November 3), Shenzhen (December 1 and 8) and Xiamen (December 22).
