Woods rises in rankings

Former world No. 1 Tiger Woods moved back into the world’s top 150 on Monday, after falling just short in his bid for a first title since 2013 at the Valspar Championship. England’s Paul Casey jumped up five places to 12th in the rankings, after edging out the 14-time major champion by one stroke in Florida on Sunday. The 42-year-old Woods, who was ranked outside the top 1,000 just last year after struggling with injuries, is now back up to No. 149. He climbed 239 places after finishing tied-second behind Casey with Patrick Reed. American Dustin Johnson maintains a healthy lead over compatriot Justin Thomas at the top.
