The unconventional Khalil Fong returns

FONG Tai Tung, also known as Khalil Fong, will come back to Shanghai to share his music and stories with his fans.

Born in Hawaii in 1983, the singer, songwriter and record producer features an unconventional and creative approach in the Chinese music industry, which has been the results of diverse musical and cultural influences.

Fong was introduced to funk, jazz and soul music at a very young age by his father, a professional drummer. At the age of 15 he started to play the guitar and later the versatile artist began to play the piano and drums.

Since his debut in 2005, Fong has released nine studio albums including “Soul Boy,” “This Love,” “Orange Moon,” “Wonderland” and “Timeless.” Excelling in Mando-pop, jazz, R&B, soul and funk music, the Chinese-American artist is responsible for original songs like “Special Person,” “Love Song,” “My Only,” “Singalong Song” and “Ten Reasons” and also has cover versions such as “Red Bean” and “Wonderful Tonight.”

In addition to his own works, Fong constantly engages himself in producing and composing tracks for well-known artists like Fiona Sit, Andy Lau and Eason Chan.

Fong has won numerous awards since he first burst onto the scene, including HITO Radio Music Awards, Metro Radio Music Awards, Asia Artist Awards and Golden Melody Awards.
