Woolmark’s film tribute
THE Short film “Armour” as part of The Woolmark Company’s “New World Wool” campaign recently made its debut at The Shanghai Edition before being distributed further via The Woolmark Company’s global digital channels.
Natasha Liu Bordizzo stars in the short film written and directed by Ben Briand, marking 50 years of the Australian wool trade with China. Filmed in rural Tasmania, well-known as a top producer of Merino wool, beautiful romanticism collides with trilling noir tones in this visually stunning production.
The film features key wool garments from the fall/winter 2018 collections of some of the world’s leading fashion designers and brands, including Jacquemus, Paul Smith, Max Mara, Erin Snow and John Smedley.
“I was inspired by the wool manufacturing process of taking something incredibly raw and turning it into something achingly beautiful,” the director explained.
