China expects world economic growth to pick up slightly in 2015

BEIJING, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) -- The world economic growth speed will probably pick up slightly in 2015, but the recovery would remain weak, according to the Central Economic Work Conference concluded on Thursday.

BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- China will focus on boosting economic growth quality and efficiency in 2015 and stick to the theme of seeking progress while maintaining stability, according to a high-level meeting of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Friday.

China will adapt to the economic "new normal," keep economic growth within a reasonable range and emphasize growth mode transformation and economic restructuring, said a statement issued after the meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.Full story

Xinhua Insight: Five-year-low CPI heralds more easing, price reform

BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- China's consumer prices grew by their slowest pace in five years in November, which may result in more easing measures by the policymakers, official data showed on Wednesday.

The consumer price index (CPI), the main gauge of inflation, rose by 1.4 percent year on year, the slowest increase since November 2009, when it rose 0.6 percent, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).Full story

Xinhua Insight: Policy easing eyed as economic activity remains sluggish

BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- A raft of weaker-than-expected economic indicators released Thursday highlighted downward pressures for China's economy and prompted analysts to eye further easing policies in the near term.
