Urgent: Nuclear power plant in southeast Belgium evacuated

BRUSSELS, March 22 (Xinhua) -- Employees of the Tihange nuclear power plant in the Belgian town of Huy in the province of Liege has been evacuated, according to reports from Flemish media outlet VTM.

The causes for the evacuation were not immediately made known.

The threat level in Belgium has been raised to the highest level 4 from the previous level 3 following explosions at Brussels airport and on a city subway train, during which at least 26 people were killed and 136 injured.
