Discounter agrees to anti-piracy

Pinduoduo, an online Chinese bulk product discounter, has signed cooperation agreements with two counter-piracy alliances, facilitated by China’s copyright authority.

The National Copyright Administration has over the years been actively guiding copyright cooperation between e-commerce platforms and copyright owners, and established copyright protection cooperation mechanisms, said an official of the administration.

The measures are to curb infringement from the origin, the official added.

E-commerce platforms have to take the initiative to enhance copyright management, especially around yesterday’s Singles Day online shopping festival, also known as Double Eleven.

The two counter-piracy alliances involve the Commercial Press, the People’s Education Press as well as China’s leading publishing houses for teenagers and young children.
