Brose's Asia sales may surge 50% by 2015
GERMAN automotive supplier Brose expects a 50 percent surge in Asia sales by 2015 as it adds capacity to meet demand.
The company, which makes electric drives, door systems and seat adjusters, said that regional sales could total 1.2 billion euros (US$1.57 billion) by 2015, up from 780 million euros last year.
Sales in China may reach 817 million euros this year after increasing about 20 percent to 760 million euros last year, Brose Chief Executive Officer Jurgen Otto said during the Auto Shanghai 2013 show.
Globally Brose's sales rose 11 percent to 4.5 billion euros last year.
Otto said China's expected economic growth of around 7 percent is enough to help the company to grow.
Brose also plans to expand its Asian headquarters in Shanghai with a new 20,000 square-meter complex that is under construction.
