Foam joint venture
SINOCHEM and US diversified manufacturer Honeywell yesterday announced the formation of an equally-owned joint venture in China for the production of energy-efficient foam insulation.
The venture, to be based in Taicang, Jiangsu Province, will be capable of producing an annual 12,000 tons of non-ozone-depleting, rigid blowing agents when production starts at the end of 2013.
Total investment in the venture will exceed US$100 million, said Wang Yinping, vice president of Sinochem.
Blowing agents are used as insulation for appliances, construction, transport and other applications where energy efficiency is paramount.
