Ford sales surge

FORD Motor yesterday announced first-quarter sales in China rose 19 percent year on year to 140,566 units in China.
In March, the United States car makers reported sales of 53,440 units, representing a 20 percent increase from the same period of last year. The March sales were also up 67 percent from February. Ford's passenger car sales for the first quarter reached 85,123 units, an increase of 11 percent year on year. Commercial vehicle sales for the same period totaled 55,443 units, an increase of 34 percent from a year earlier.
