Mercedes-Benz’s recall
Mercedes-Benz will recall 10,558 vehicles in China over defective airbags, China’s quality watchdog said yesterday.
The affected vehicles, made between January 12, 2007, and December 30, 2008, involve C-class and GLK models, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement.
The automaker said a control unit in the vehicles’ airbags may fail to work and the airbags may open even when the cars are not in collisions.
The company will replace the defective parts free of charge from March 7.
