China posts 27% gain in fiscal income
THE Ministry of Finance yesterday said China's fiscal revenue rose to 1 trillion yuan (US$154 billion) in April, up 27.2 percent year on year.
The growth rate edged up from 26.7 percent in March, but eased from the 36 percent increase in the first two months of this year when surging imports boosted fiscal revenue, the ministry said in a statement.
The growth of fiscal revenue may slow in the following months, it added.
In April, the central government collected 521.4 billion yuan and local governments gathered the rest, the statement said.
The April figure brought China's fiscal revenue in the first four months of this year to 3.62 trillion yuan, up an annual 31.4 percent, it said.
Fiscal revenue in China includes taxes, administrative fees as well as other government income, such as fines and revenue from state-owned assets.
