Tang Jun heads off to greener pasture
A former president of Microsoft China, Tang Jun, has resigned as chief executive of Xin Hua Du Industrial Group Co.
Tang said on his personal Weibo account yesterday that he has left Xin Hua Du, which has interests in retail, real estate, mining, high-tech and tourism industries, after a five-year tenure.
Tang and his management team are now the largest shareholder of Gaotime Information Co, a Haikou-registered financial information provider, while Xin Hua Du holds the second-biggest stake, the Securities Times said yesterday.
In July 2010, Tang was accused of academic fraud by blogger and scientific translator Fang Zhouzi who also discovered that some technical inventions claimed by Tang were in fact invented by other people.
Tang had previously served as president and director at NASDAQ-listed Shanda Interactive Entrainment Ltd and president of Microsoft China.
