Sinopec production rises

CHINA Petroleum and Chemical Corp yesterday said it boosted crude oil production by 4.3 percent in the first half of this year to 163.09 million barrels.
Of this, overseas output surged 82.5 percent to 11.13 million barrels, according to the company, also known as Sinopec, which released its first-half operational statistics yesterday. Natural gas output gained 14.2 percent to 8.2 billion cubic meters.
Sinopec, Asia's largest refiner, also said refinery throughput increased 1.1 percent to 109.76 million tons in the January-June period from a year earlier.
