5 banks offer free trade accounts

FIVE commercial lenders in Shanghai started last week to offer free trade accounts for enterprises in the city’s pilot free trade zone. The accounts will facilitate easier cross-border money transfers for both domestic and foreign enterprises. The five banks are the Bank of China, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank and the Bank of Shanghai. China Merchants Bank and the Bank of Communications have also been approved to offer the accounts, but have yet to do so.
