Healthcare link urged
INTERNET firms, medical hardware makers and medical service providers should collaborate to provide an integrated service for patients and stakeholders in healthcare.
Li Tiantian, founder of Hangzhou-based healthcare service group Dingxiangyuan, said mobile healthcare should be better promoted in community healthcare service centers to connect other players in the industry.
“Without providing relevant healthcare services, medical tracking devices such as wristbands tracking daily movements or portable glucometer won’t be able to play a significant role,” he told the Digital Healthcare China Forum in Shanghai yesterday.
“Data cannot be collected and used properly unless there are services to leverage the data and professionals to educate patients and provide a one-stop service for patients to get them familiar not only with medical tracking devices but also disease knowledge.”
Wu Bo, general manager of Tencare, the healthcare service unit of Tencent, said: “It’s our key strategy to connect various kind of service providers and medical institutions with patients.”
