Lyon seeks capital
LYON, France’s second-largest commercial hub after Paris, welcomes Chinese investment, its Mayor Gerard Collomb said in Shanghai yesterday.
Collomb led a business and cultural team of over 50 members to China for an eight-day visit this week. Collomb also went to Beijing while the next stop will be Guangzhou.
“Lyon has become more open, embracing changes and promoting itself as a smart city with good food and amiable living conditions,” Collomb said, noting Chinese companies including the Bank of China, Huawei, Midea and Bluestar Silicones have invested in Lyon.
“We want Chinese people to understand that France has more than Paris, and Lyon is also a good destination for investment, with lower prices of property as one of its many advantages,” Collomb said.
