Senior regulator to head Shenzhen exchange
A senior official of China’s securities regulator has been appointed to head the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.
Wu Lijun replaced Chen Dongzheng as board chairman of the bourse and its Party secretary, Xiao Gang, chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, revealed in a meeting yesterday.
Prior to the appointment, 50-year-old Wu was assistant chairman of the CSRC and a member of the Party committee at the securities regulator.
Chen retired, said a statement on the website of the exchange, a market for small and medium-sized Chinese enterprises.
“As a platform for the allocation of capital market resource, Shenzhen Stock Exchange should further expand the Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises Board and accelerate reforms of the growth enterprises market,” Xiao said.
Wu said the exchange will diversify services for small and medium-sized companies as well as the Internet and high-technology companies.
