Carrier’s grand 4G plans
CHINA Mobile is set to have 1 million 4G base stations by the end of 2015 and aims to lure another 200 million 4G users, the world’s biggest mobile carrier said yesterday.
The carrier currently has 600,000 4G base stations nationwide used by 60 million 4G users, according to Li Huidi, its vice president.
“It’s still a relatively small percentage of China Mobile’s total user base (800 million). It means great potential,” Li said.
China Mobile also plans to set up an Internet subsidiary and another to offer 4G communications and services in automobiles next year.
