Kao production base set
THE Kao Group, a Japanese consumer goods producer, yesterday said it has completed the construction of its 490 million yuan (US$77 million) manufacturing base in east China's Anhui Province amid increasing consumer demand in the country.
The production site is Kao's second facility in China and will mainly make baby diapers and other paper products.
The 125,000-square-meter facility, located in Anhui's Hefei Economic and Technological Development Area, will add capacity to its current plant in Shanghai, which makes washing powder and other consumer products, as the Japanese company bids to reinforce its production base.
