China Southern Airlines said on Saturday it would fly directly between Urumqi, capital of the country's far western region of Xinjiang, and Tbilisi, capital of Georgia, from June 9.
This would mark the first direct flights from China to Georgia, with a flying time of five hours and 15 minutes. The flights will depart from Urumqi on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and return the next morning.
