Festive time for tourists and shoppers

The annual tourism and shopping festival is underway in Jiading District and runs to the middle of next month. The festival this year highlights 26 series of activities, including night sightseeing tours, events for car enthusiasts, weekend rural escapes and travel to historical sites.
There’s also a shopping and food extravaganza.
Jiading authorities have integrated high-quality cultural, tourism and commercial resources in the district to create an “overnight Jiading” attraction to boost the economy and people’s leisure. Overnight bazaars, performances and exhibitions at night are being held during the festival.
An automotive town, Jiading has prepared a number of motoring events. The SAIC International Circuit, Shanghai Auto Museum and Shanghai Auto Expo Park have created a car carnival to feature motor racing, an automotive science and technology show, entertainment and interactive activities.
Jiading is also perfect for people longing for a pastoral life. They can pick fruits or have a family picnic at Jiabei Country Park.
Jiading has a reputation as “a famous historic and cultural town in the south of the lower reaches of Yangtze River.” Hence, the district is providing residents and visitors with infectious and attractive traditional cultural ceremonies, traditional opera performances, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions and folk activities to demonstrate the strong influence of its history and culture.
