Minhang District hosted an online tai chi culture exchange event with Zhongshan District of Taipei City. Tai chi aficionados perform sword-playing routines, dances and engage in various tai chi-related sporting events. Communication systems between the two regions was set up in 2008. The idea is to maintain an appreciation for traditional Chinese culture and customs.
