Bi Hongyuan and Mao Yi were honored as “national good people” in July. Yi died in April at age 85. The couple, who lost both a son and daughter, spent time and money caring for the less-fortunate. They donated properties they owned and 1.2 million yuan (US$178,873) to charity.
