Shanghai No. 1 National Musical Instrument Factory exhibited new models recently at Music China 2020, an expo for musical instruments. The appearance was co-sponsored by ornamental glassmaker Swarovski. The models included the Chinese zither, pipa (a four-stringed Chinese lute) and erhu (a traditional two-stringed instrument). Some of the instruments were embedded with zircon in designs inspired by the concept of space in the Chinese mythological work “The Classic of Mountains and Seas.”
