Putuo promises favorable policies as it aims to focus on first-class business environment

SUPPORTED by Putuo District government, China Brand Day 2019 serial events were launched at the Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Center of International Sourcing in Putuo on May 9.

The China Brand Building Summit Forum, the inaugural session of the annual event, saw discussions from government officials and industry insiders about how to build home-grown brands.

Shanghai will establish a city-level brand promotion council to show its continued commitment to its ongoing efforts.

Speeding up brand-building and pushing forward high quality economic growth is a priority for local companies, Shanghai Vice Mayor Xu Kunlin said.

Xu told the forum that the city has released an action plan to push forward brand-building efforts in all of its industry sectors.

The products or services of 61 benchmark enterprises in the city have obtained a “Shanghai Brand” certification.

Tailored policies have been made to help promote new brands and revitalize old time-honored brands.

Director of Putuo District, Zhou Minhao, said a first-class business environment is an important foundation for creating high-quality development in the city. The district is promoting investment, a professional service and favorable policies, while building a comprehensive platform for Putuo-based brands.

Shanghai-originated brands have long stood for high quality and trust, and the city is maintaining efforts to continue these standards.

A joint ranking by the China Council for Brand Development and Xinhua news agency assessed 1,293 domestic brands and the Industrial Commercial Bank of China was first at 2.88 trillion yuan (US$422 billion) of brand value.

Putuo has witnessed the development of a large number of time-honored brewery brands, match factories and flour plants.

The Hero pens, Peony ink, Yuexing Group, Ele.me and Poker City have been based in Putuo for several years and grown prosperously during that time.

Putuo is actively integrating into Shanghai’s “four brands” campaign, and insists on pursuing excellence and the highest standards, Zhou said.

The city itself is striving to become a renowned metropolis for services, manufacturing, shopping and culture.

To further optimize its business environment, Putuo has launched an upgraded reform program and unveiled one-stop services for newly established enterprises.

New companies based in Putuo can now register at single specialized sections, thanks to the innovative scheme launched by the district’s market watchdog, taxation bureau and administrative service center.

The district has also launched a “3+5+X” industrial policy system to optimize the overall business environment in terms of corporate services and talent development.

Putuo will fully support the sustainable development of national brands and attract famous products to drive the development of related industries.

The district intends to actively build a comprehensive platform to promote business and create a better atmosphere for their development.
