Alibaba inks agreement with Japanese retail giant
Alibaba’s online travel unit Fliggy and Japanese electronics retailer giant BicCamera have inked an agreement to meet the increasing shopping demand of Chinese travelers to Japan.
Tourists are able to reserve goods in advance before their trips at BicCamera’s online shop on Fliggy at duty-free prices and pick the products up during their arrival. If their purchases reach a certain amount, the goods will be delivered to their hotels or airports for free by BicCamera.
More than 100,000 Chinese consumers shop at BicCamera outlets on average every month, and the scope of collection spots will be expanded after the cooperation, BicCamera said. LAOX, Japan’s biggest duty free store, Furla and China Duty Free Group have all opened online stores on Fliggy since March.
