‘Bad Boys For Life’ hits Chinese cinemas

Hollywood action-packed cop movie “Bad Boys For Life,” the third installment in the Bad Boys trilogy, hit cinemas in China yesterday.

Starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, the film charts the adventure of two Miami detectives investigating several murder cases, while taking down a notorious drug cartel head. The two detectives, Marcus and Mike, are going through their own personal crises, challenges and problems, such as a career change and a midlife crisis, that will eventually make them wiser and stronger in the long run.

The film features some visually stunning action and fight scenes to depict the detectives’ courage and bulletproof friendship.

The movie embraces a combination of action and comedy, and it certainly impressed many North American when it was first shown in January.

Movie buff David Lee said, on the film review website Rotten Tomatoes that, “It is a really great movie with fantastic action sets, great humor and story.”

Carla Hay thinks the new installment is different from the previous Bad Boys’ films because it adds emotional gravitas.

Ever since the debut of the first “Bad Boys” in 1995, the franchise has cultivated an enormous worldwide fan base. The second installment was released in 2003, with Michael Bay also sitting in the director’s chair.

The third movie is directed by young filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah and is produced by the celebrated filmmaker Jerry Bruckheimer, whose credits include “Pearl Harbor” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
