Feel the beauty of electrical-Soul with HONNE

HONNE, a British electronic-soul duo formed in 2014 in London, will give their live tour “Love Me/Love Me Not” in Shanghai, Chengdu and Beijing soon.

The duo consists of James Hatcher and Andy Clutterbuck. They both compose, record and produce the music.

Hatcher and Clutterbuck met while at university. They hit it off instantly and decided to form a band together.

They both are interested in music from the West Coast of the United States and Japanese culture and had the common experience of performing in their school orchestras.

The duo started making music together under the name HONNE — a Japanese word meaning true feelings. Hatcher explains: “The meaning behind honne matches our music a lot more than you might think it would.”

The duo is apt at creating romance and composing songs about love. In 2014, they uploaded their first song, “Warm on a Cold Night,” on Soundcloud.

HONNE then released two EPs, “All in the Value” (2014) and “Coastal Love” (2015). Their musical style has been described as “futuristic soul destined to reinvent babymaking music” by The Telegraph.

HONNE’s debut studio album “Warm on a Cold Night” was released in July 2016.

The live tour has the same name to the duo’s second album, “Love Me/Love Me Not,” released in 2018.
