Free Wi-Fi on Haruka train
JR-WEST Group in Japan announced it has introduced more foreign staff and provided free Wi-Fi on trains.
It also intends to open more multi-language accounts on social-media platforms to better serve overseas travelers.
Its Haruka train, running between Kansai International Airport and Kyoto, has been decorated with Hello Kitty images to attract overseas tourists.
Meanwhile, JR Kyushu has also issued an IC bus card "sugomon pass," targeting overseas travelers in Kyushu, allowing tourists to enjoy discounts when shopping in Fukuoka and Kumamoto.
The design of the bus card draws inspiration from Kumamon, the bear-shaped mascot of Kumamoto Prefecture.
