Colorful little haven

COME and feel Shanghai because it rains pink in the spring.

Come and feel Shanghai because it is covered in green in the summer.

Come and feel Shanghai because it dresses in gold in the autumn.

Come and feel Shanghai because it is dotted in red in the winter.

Hello, I am Hayden from SUIS Shangyin, and today I will share with you the reasons why I love Shanghai. Many of you might think of Shanghai as a megacity, a metropolis with skyscrapers, fancy restaurants and instagram hotspots. But under this colossal skyline, between the busy Metro crowds, surrounded by the never-ending traffic, I find comfort and peace in the generous green space Shanghai offers.

In the spring, cherry blossoms bloom in Gucun Park. When the wind blows, the most beautiful petals rain down like a million pink droplets!

In the summer, the parks along Suzhou Creek are covered with rolling green lawns. I especially enjoy picnicking and attending my friends’ birthday parties there!

In the autumn, I go biking in the Expo Culture Park where the ginkgo trees dress themselves in gold sequins. As the afternoon sun beams, the ginkgo leaves glisten.

In the winter, traditional red lanterns dot Yuyuan Garden in preparation for Chinese New Year, and that is my favorite spot to feed the fish and turtles!

So, come and feel Shanghai because this is my home and my little piece of haven, and you can make it yours too!

Thank you.
