A warm day
The city has a chance to see a rare warm mid-December day today with the mercury likely to reach 20 degrees Celsius, forecasters said.
The Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said the last record of a 20-degree winter day in mid December was in 1955. Skies will be cloudy today with the mercury ranging from 13 to 20 degrees. However, the cold air will affect the city between tomorrow night and Wednesday with strong winds and a sharp temperature drop. Starting late tomorrow, this round of powerful cold air will also bring wetness back. The rainy weather will last through Sunday. The high will drop to 15 degrees on Tuesday and 10 degrees on Wednesday, with the lows dropping to 11 and 8. Thursday will be the coldest day of the week with a forecast high of 9 and the low of 7. It will get a little bit warmer over the weekend.
