In service of outdoor workers
There will be 200 new service stations for outdoor workers by the end of September in addition to the current 1,000, Shanghai General Trade Union said yesterday.
Also, 200 of the current stations will be upgraded and equipped with Wi-Fi, power banks, first-aid kits, newspapers and books.
The new stations will be found in areas with a relatively large number of outdoor workers, such as street cleaners and deliverymen, where no service station is currently available.
About 10,000 workers use the service stations every day, with 81 percent being street cleaners, 5.6 percent food deliverymen and 5 percent parcel deliverymen.
The largest number of such stations are found in the vicinities of telecom companies and banks.
Outdoor workers are welcome to have a rest in air-conditioned rooms, drink water and use any facility available.
