Rams net Jaguars’ Ramsey
The Los Angeles Rams moved to shore up their creaky defense on Tuesday, acquiring star cornerback Jalen Ramsey from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a raft of draft picks, the team announced. Ramsey, who had been unsettled at Jacksonville, heads to Los Angeles in exchange for a 2020 first-round pick as well as first- and fourth-round picks in the 2021 draft, the Rams said. Ramsey was the fifth overall pick in the 2016 National Football League Draft and has recorded 210 tackles, nine interceptions and two forced fumbles in 51 games. The 24-year-old is regarded as one of the best corners in the NFL and has twice been picked for the Pro Bowl. He joins a Rams defense that has been hit by an injury to Aqib Talib, while corner Marcus Peters was traded to the Baltimore Ravens earlier on Tuesday. The Rams are 3-3 after losing their last three games in the league.
