Sharks lose 2 foreign stars for remaining CBA games

Two foreign players, Jared Cunningham and Donatas Motiejunas, have parted ways with the Shanghai Sharks, the club confirmed on Monday.
That leaves only Ray McCallum as the lone foreign representative that will play for the team after the 2019-2020 Chinese Basketball Association season resumes. Following Cunningham’s departure at the end of his contract on May 15, the club originally planned to put both Motiejunas and McCallum on court to gain an advantage over other teams whose foreign players are not able to return to China during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Motejunas’ proposal to have a contract extension with the Sharks in advance was rejected by the club, over concerns about his health problems.
