The Xinjiang Flying Tigers tamed the Beijing Royal Fighters 103-91 in the Chinese Basketball Association playoffs in Qingdao, east China’s Shandong Province, yesterday to reach the semifinals. Center Zhou Qi led Xinjiang with a team-high 27 points and 12 rebounds, while Xiralijan Muhtar finished with 21 points. On the Royal Fighters’ side, Kyle Fogg collected a game-high 31 points and Arnett Moultrie grabbed 14 points and 16 rebounds. Xinjiang will take on the Liaoning Flying Leopards in the best-of-three semifinals. The Leopards edged out the Zhejiang Golden Bulls 127-123 in the late quarterfinal clash in Qingdao. Zhejiang’s Wu Qian poured a game-high 48 points but it was all in vain. Guo Ailun finished with 35 points and 8 assists for Liaoning.
