Shanghai to become Owl City again

OWL City will soon pay its fourth visit to Shanghai.

Created by American singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Adam Young, the only constant member, in a tiny basement in Owatonna, Minnesota, Owl City gained popularity after releasing its major label debut album “Ocean Eyes,” which includes the six-time Platinum single “Fireflies.”

Following the album being certified Platinum in 2010, Owl City has released several other albums and EPs, including “All Things Bright and Beautiful,” “The Midsummer Station” and “Mobile Orchestra.”

Responsible for iconic singles like “Good Time,” “The Saltwater Room,” “When Can I See You Again,” and “All About Us,” Owl City has also recorded songs for several animated films like “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole,” and collaborated with big names like Carly Rae Jepson, John Mayer and Maroon 5.

Its music, defined as belonging to electronica, synth-pop and indietronica genres, was described as “whimsical, sweet, teeny, happy and all about hugging and fireflies.”

Just like the lyrics of “Good Time” (“hands up if you’re down to get down tonight!”) Young, with his Owl City, is coming back to Shanghai with the “Cinematic World Tour.” He will share his life, which he views as a movie, with his fans and hopes there’s a way to show people how to truly appreciate their lives.
