AI chip for servers unveiled
Shanghai-based startup Yitu launched server AI chip yesterday, the world’s first AI chip for computers that can be used for facial recognition and smart driving.
It combines Yitu’s algorithm and Shanghai’s advanced IC or integrated circuit eco-system, representing the city’s effort to establish “AI highland” nationwide and globally.
Zhu Long, co-founder and chief executive of Yitu, called the new questcore chip “world-class algorithm” and competitive enough for rivals like current market leader Nvidia.
It also marked the end of Moore’s law when chip makers like Intel-dominated market.
In China, Huawei, Yitu and Cambricon have developed AI chips used in servers.
