An Adelaide Hills resident who has been without power for nearly three days after fierce storms has criticised SA Power Networks for sending contradictory messages about electricity restoration.
About 2,000 properties are still without power.
Mark Randell, from Mount George, only connected a generator to his home on Wednesday after being told a number of times by the network provider the service would be reconnected but it was not.
"I think their messages are incorrect. If they're not expecting to have their power on at 5pm that night, they shouldn't say that," he said.
"They should say it will be tomorrow or the next day. Then we'd be able to prepare for it."
He said the situation was frustrating.
"But we are lucky in this particular house, we've got a wood stove which allows us to have hot water and we can cook and keep warm.
"So providing the candles are going we can even see."
He said while he would rather the power on, he would welcome any compensation from the company.
SA Power Networks said it expected to pay a significant amount to residents affected by the power outages.
Users who have gone without power for 12 hours or more can expect to receive a guaranteed service level payment of at least $100.
