Open campus for Fudan school of management

SHANGHAI will have its first open-campus business school in a bustling business community.

Fudan University plans to invest 700 million yuan (US$106.4 million) to build the 17,000-square-meter new campus for its School of Management in the Knowledge and Innovation Community in Yangpu District, a school official announced.

Fudan has launched an international design competition for the new campus. Well-known architectural firms such as AREP of France, which designed the Sports City Tower in Doha for the 15th Asian Games, joined in the competition.

"I hope that the new campus will mark the rise of our School of Management as a world-class business school," said Lu Xiongwen, the school dean.

The new campus will mainly offer MBA and EMBA programs while the old campus will provide Bachelor and Master programs.

Local residents will be given access to the cafeteria, theater and gymnasium on the new campus, Lu said.
