Pudong outlines vision of recovery and helping city’s economic development
The Pudong New Area has unveiled a new plan to help local enterprises recover from the pandemic, boost market confidence and accelerate economic development and modernization.
The plan focuses on four highlights: industrial stability and key enterprises’ capacity to resume production; promoting consumption and fueling domestic demand; promoting investment; and job security.
It includes measures to protect market players, raise their confidence and stabilize market expectations, promote innovation, support foreign investment, improve people’s livelihoods, increase the efficiency of resource allocation and protect the environment.
The plan will give full play to leading enterprises in all sectors to drive the coordinated development of upstream and downstream industrial chains.
It also focuses on local and national assistance policies to help businesses make the best use of the many advantages that Pudong has to offer and the area’s export-oriented economy.
The Pudong New Area aims to be a stabilizer and a power source for the city’s high-quality economic development and its efforts to accelerate economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The plan will write a new chapter and reflect Pudong’s status as a pioneer area for socialist modernization in the new era.
More than 30 years ago, the development and opening-up of the Pudong New Area broke new ground and the central leadership announced to the world China’s determination to promote reform and opening-up.
The central leadership has entrusted Pudong with a new historical mission of building a pioneer area for socialist modernization as the world undergoes great change.
At the beginning of the development of Pudong in 1990, with the purpose of “developing Pudong, revitalizing Shanghai, serving the whole country and facing the world,” Pudong, Shanghai, China and the world were linked together.
In the new era, Pudong should take the political and historical responsibility of promoting the national strategy to show the world China’s vision, spirit and roadmap for the future.
