A careless driver has accepted full responsibility after he ploughed his car straight into a hospital building.

The driver in Nanling, Anhui Province, mistakenly slammed down hard on his accelerator, instead of the brake, causing the car to lose control and crash.

A man parking his electric scooter, nearby, managed to jump clear as the out-of-control car careered towards him and the hospital wall. The culmination of which saw a big hole punched through the building’s front facade.

The vehicle’s owner later admitted the incident was a result of his own anxiety. He was worried about his mother’s consultation with a doctor at Nanling Hospital on the day of the June 25 accident.

His mother was sitting in the back seat of the car at the time and escaped injury, as did the driver, who was saved by the vehicle’s safety airbags.

Police stated that the driver should take full responsibility for the accident. He will not only repair his car but also pay compensation for the damage to hospital's wall.
