Furor As Woman Pulls Out Hair From Camel at Zoo
Program Code: 09093461706010001 Source: Tencent
Tourists in Dalian Forest Zoo were shocked when an elderly woman abruptly pulled a large bunch of hair from a camel on May 30.
The woman then put the hair into her bag.
A video that was uploaded on the Internet caused a stir. Dalian Forest Zoo eventually responded over the furor on its official Weibo account on May 31.
The zoo indicated that camels were docile creatures and rarely poses any danger to tourists. Despite that there was a sign that warned visitors about the dangers of getting too close to the animals.
“Why was it so easy for the lady to pull out such a large amount of hair from the camel?” netizens asked.
The zoo said it was the shedding season for camels and the hairs come off naturally from their body. The lady’s behavior was unlikely to have hurt the camel.
However, the zoo admitted it was partly to blame, as they could not stop the lady, and promised to further strengthen their supervision.
