Babysitter Shaking Infant Hard Triggers Internet Fury

A video of a babysitter in Hebei Province shaking an infant back and forth violently has gone viral online.
The maid’s assault on the baby was discovered when the child’s parents were looking back over some video files recorded from their monitor on June 3. They were horrified to see the maternity maid, known as a yuesao in Chinese, fiercely shaking their baby.
The maid apologized to the family after they made contact to inform the former child minder of their discovery. Yet the maid defended her actions saying she shook the child in order to soothe the baby back to sleep.
The baby’s parents said the maid was informed that their child had a congenital heart disease prior to working for them.
The parents said the maid had worked for them for almost a year but left on May 1. The incident has been reported to the police and they are looking into it.
The maid once worked for a yuesao company in Beijing, and, according to one of the company staff, was fired in 2013.
The video posted online caused outrage among Netizens, who expressed their fury for her behavior towards the baby.
