An elderly and middle-aged group of keep-fit fanatics have become Internet sensation after blatantly ignoring traffic violations by walking in the center of a dangerous road.
The exercise group, from Qingdao, east China’s Shandong Province, have been caught on camera, all dressed in same-patterned T-shirts, marching down an overtaking lane with a loud speaker playing music. There are between 20 to 30 of the exercise buffs, who repeat the drill, near a residential complex, after 6pm every day, despite speeding cars passing them on the busy two-way road with eight lanes.
According to residents living nearby, the group began flouting the traffic laws when construction work on a neighboring residential complex was not fully completed.
Netizens took to social media to comment on the dangerous drill and many condemned their actions saying it posed a threat to the safety of both the passing cars and those taking exercise.
