Program Code: 09093461705180023 Source: Miaopai
A man in Shan County in Shandong Province failed in his attempt to throw himself into a river to commit suicide on May 15 as the river’s water level only reached his chest.
There was a sign reading “Danger! Do not step into the deep water” over the bridge. The man looked desperate and put his hands against a bridge pier when he stood up in the river and found it was unexpectedly shallow.
Local police rescued him. According to the initial investigation, the man had been drinking heavily over failed love before trying to kill himself.
It is possible to drown in just 2.5 centimeters of water.
