Alibaba teams up with Denmark businesses

ALIBABA Group said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Denmark government over the weekend to increase exports from the Scandinavian country to China and promote Denmark as a tourism destination for Chinese travelers.

Alibaba's Tmall Global imported goods marketplace also unveiled the new Denmark Pavilion which initially includes more than 20 brands such as Bang & Olufsen, Jacob Jensen Design, ECCO, ONLY and Vero Moda.

Tmall Global has been strengthening collaboration with overseas brands as consumers are embracing higher quality imported goods.

Alibaba Group and the Government of Denmark will also strengthen cooperation in anti-counterfeiting and the protection of intellectual property.

Alibaba’s online travel booking platform Fliggy will also offer Chinese consumers travel tips and as well as visa information.

"Chinese consumers have often limited knowledge of Danish products and it is therefore important that the Danish Foreign Ministry can support Danish companies’ success in this particular area", Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs Anders Samuelsen said in a statement.
